Should I use a wrist strap on a 7 year old or is there anything better?
I am visiting London for a week in the middle of August. I am expecting it to be very busy around the tourist attractions. My two kids are 13 and 7. Is a wrist strap the safest device to stop the 7 year old from getting caught up in groups of people and getting lost, or is there anything better to use. He will be wearing a name band around his arm with phone number incase he accidentally gets lost. We live in remote countryside so he is not used to being in areas with a lot of people.
I am not opposed to wrist straps in principle, but I have to agree with the other posters- a wrist strap on a 7 year old is excessive!
He is old enough that just telling him to stay where he can see you should be enough, putting a wrist strap on him will get you weird and disapproving looks.
Heck, I'm just about ready to put the toddler leash that I use on my 15 month old into storage because he has been REALLY good at staying with me lately, they are only supposed to be a training aid.
